Introduction to Counselling and Personal Development Skills
Are you interested in personal development for yourself or in a work context?
Are you interested in understanding the counselling process and how it could help you become a better communicator?
Are you intersested in pursuing a career in a helping profession such as coaching or counselling?
Do you currently work in a helping profession and want to know more about how listening therapies could enhance your work?
If so, this course will give you an opportunity to develop your skills and to find out more about the next steps. The day will include discussions, group exercises, experiential learning and the opportunity to practise and develop your listening skills in a safe, friendly and supportive atmosphere of The Green Oak Training Academy.

Course Aims and Objectives
By the end of the course you will have:
developed an awareness of the nature of counselling
be able to recognize the associated benefits and limitations of counselling
gained an understanding of how counselling can be useful in a variety of different situations
explored the nature of counselling skills
gained an awareness of the importance of body language and listening skills when communicating with others, as well as barriers to communication
had an opportunity to reflect on your own learning style and personal development.
The course will be delivered by two qualified counsellors, coaches and trainers with experience in education, the corporate environment and the voluntary sector.
